Cupertino, Calif.—August 8, 2005—Clairvoyante, Inc. founder, chief technology officer, and chairwoman of the board Candice H. Brown Elliott has been nominated for a 2005 World Technology Award in communications technology. Winners will be announced at this year's World Technology Summit taking place on November 14–15, 2005 in San Francisco, in association with NASDAQ, Philips, Microsoft, TIME magazine, MIT Technology Review magazine, Science magazine, and CNN.
"Clairvoyante's founding principals assert that the key to improving display performance lies in understanding human vision—a science that led Ms. Brown Elliott to pioneer the design and development of PenTile Matrix® technology," said Clairvoyante president and chief executive officer Joel Pollack. "We are proud that her contributions to developing Clairvoyante's proprietary subpixel rendering technology are being recognized by the prestigious members of the World Technology Network."
Winners will be announced on November 15 at the conclusion of the World Technology Summit at San Francisco City Hall. Nominees for the World Technology Awards were chosen through an intensive, global process in which current WTN members nominated who they think is doing innovative work of the greatest likely long-term significance within their particular field. Past winners include David P. Reed, MIT and HP Fellow, Hewlett-Packard Laboratories; and Charles Black/Kathryn Guarini, Physical Sciences Dept./Silicon Technology Department, T.J. Watson Research Center, IBM.
